Glasgow Scotstoun bound.....
West Coast Trojans opened their 2011 home game schedule with a match up with the Glasgow Tigers. The Trojans had already taken the Tigers to task in May when they had played them at the Tigers den. Now they were on Trojans soil.
For the first time the Trojans took to their new home field at Scotstoun Stadium and in front of a record obliterating crowd of 287, which is a Trojans Home Game record (regular season), they set out to maintain their winning streak under head coach and QB Gary McNey.
By half time the home team had kept the Tigers to an empty score card while the home team scored several times, but the second half saw the Trojans zero points against record fall and a revitalized Tigers side put 12 points on the board.
The Scotstoun Stadium fans who had been wrapped up against a rather chilly wind saw the game end with the Trojans ahead at 36 to 12.
It was a great opener for the Trojans and their new home field, and the addition of the record breaking crowd pointed to possible things to come.
Well done to both teams and stadium staff for providing a game day to remember.
Final Score
West Coast Trojans 36 - Glasgow Tigers 12
