A quiver full of Arrows....
You want History.?
When the Redditch Arrows met the West Coast Trojans at home last season, the Sun shone down on a very good football game.
The Sun was also shining as the `08 Redditch Arrows took to the field.
But would this be the only bit of History re-enacted today?
The Trojans opened the scoring, with a certain Jon Sutherland back in the fold, and a further score saw the Trojans take the score to 12-0.
Then the Arrows came back with a sneak play by their QB and notched up their first score.
Was the game going to turn out a balancing act with both teams taking turn to score, or was this just the opening salvos with the main event yet to come.?!
Not to be outdone, the Trojans scored again and this time added a 2 point PAT. But the see-saw nature of the game was not yet over, and the Arrows turned up the heat yet again, making the scoreline 20-13 Trojans at the half.
The second half of the battle quickly saw both teams staring at a 20-20 score when the Arrows added another 7 to their tally and both teams turned up their efforts at clinching the deal.
But time was running out and the opposing teams failed to break the war of attrition that was now firmly in place on the Renfrew turf.
The final whistle brought the game, a well balanced and enjoyable one, to end on a tie.
Both teams can be happy that they played well and that this time around there were no losers.
