Bobcats prowl inverclyde .....

The Inverclyde Phoenix welcomed the Leeds Varsity Bobcats to their home turf on the Battery Park in Greenock.

This would be the Phoenix's first 11 a side kited game and the team performed well, and the Bobcats with a bigger roster of players were held in the first half.

Unfortunately this made the push through the second half a tougher struggle for the home team as tiredness and injury forced the team into covering both offense and defense.

But at no point did they give in against the marked freshness of the opposing side and continued to knuckle down to the job.

After this valiant struggle was over, the Bobcats had asserted their strengths and the larger squad won through. The game ending on a score of 58-6 to the Bobcats.

Both teams can be proud of the contest, and both move on to their next opponents. Phoenix can now use this valuable experience to move up that learning curve.

Well done.
