Cardinals keep the Faith.

Dark and windy conditions greeted both teams at the Div 1 Semi-Final game on Sunday, held at King George V playing fields, Renfrew, home of the West Coast Trojans.

The MCP Ipswich Cardinals, flew in to meet the charged 9 and 1 Trojans in what was a "must win" game for both teams. The prospect of promotion and Britbowl Div 1 Finals were at stake.

The home team, started well and were 13-0 up at the end of the first quarter, however the Cardinals stepped up the gears, and their defence stifled the Trojans valiant attempts at further scoring throughout the rest of the game.

Unfortunately for the Trojans, the game finished with the Cardinals ahead with a 28-13 win and a place in Sheffield on the cards. But there was honour in defeat.

It was not how we had hoped the season would end, but as with every game, there has to be winners and losers and the Trojans can be justly proud of their achievements this season, coming as they did on top of their conference, and making a semi-final game for the third time in three years.

One thing is for sure,....when the heat dies down, these guys will be back in town.!

Go Trojans,

The 2008 Campaign starts now.
