Britbowl XXV Finals....

Sunday 25th September, Div 2 Final game, Crystal Palace, London.

After a hard fought season, the West Coast Trojans had sucessfully secured their berth at Britbowl XXV, beating a raft of good teams along the way. Now all that stood in the way of a Britbowl win, was the South Wales Warriors.

They would meet on the field at Crystal Palace, London.

West Coast arrived at the ground having endured the 9 hour coach trip south to the Capital. South Wales having come the slightly shorter distance from their home turf.

Trojans had "home Field" advantage gained from their results, but it was not "Scotstoun" their true home...and they gained very little from this.

A hardy band of Trojans supporters had also made their way to the stadium by a variety of means.

Now it was time for the two teams to take to the field. Dreams of winning only four quarters away.

From the start of the first, it was obvious that the visiting side, the Warriors, meant business and wasted no time putting the first points on the board. The first half was all theirs, but the second saw the Trojans bounce back with a couple of scores of their own. But it was too late to salvage the game.

As the ball was raised to signal the end of the game, the Warriors were up 48-20, the better of the final two Div 2 teams on the day.

Dissapointment at the result was hard on the Trojans, a great team more used to winning, but in true sporting fashion, brave faces hid this dissapointment as they formed a guard of honour for the Champions of Div 2.

It had been a hard fought season taking on Tigers, Wildcats, Hurricanes, Rievers, Wolves, Pathfinders and Revolution enroute to the Final and proving themselves worthy of the Final place.

Now they faced the long journey home...and the start of the next season.

A Word of Thanks

10yardline would like to say thanks to the team of great guys and ladies who have provided the action on the field over the past seasons and especially this one, and allowed me to travel to the Britbowl. I only hope that the images captured help to tell the story of Trojans Football 2011

It was a pleasure trying to capture the spirit of the team and the game.

Roll on Season 2012....

...............................Roll on West Coast

GO TROJANS !!!
